Dear (Insert Representative or Senator's Name):
Boys & Girls Clubs of Wisconsin serve more than 144,000 kids in every corner of the state, across 159 sites in 57 cities. Whether it's improving academic achievement, building career skills, reducing juvenile crime, or keeping kids off opioids, the Clubs are the answer to many of the problems we currently face.
I encourage you to support funding in the state budget that funds crucial club programs. It is a down payment on our future, and every dollar invested in the Clubs returns $12.46 in earnings and cost-savings to the state and local communities. We are already paying for our lack of past investment when we house youth at Lincoln HIlls, pay unemployment compensation, build more prisons, and don't have enough workers to fill good local jobs. The Club kids of today are the workforce of tomorrow. We save money later when we invest now.
Whether a kid dreams of becoming an astronaut or an engineer, a nurse, or a welder, our local Boys & Girls Club help them become their dream. At 159 Club sites across Wisconsin, professionals provide a safe, fun experience so young people can reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. This is not a side benefit, it's the very mission of the organization. Wisconsin Clubs already raise more than $60 million from young people and private companies across our state, but they could do so much more with your support for youth apprenticeship programs, early workforce development training grants, and investment in teaching STEM skills at middle schools.
Please vote to support the Club programs that make a real difference in Wisconsin's future.
